Enhancing Code Security With the Developer Trust Score
Pieter Danhieux on the Benefits of Trust Score for CISOs and DevelopersSecure code has been a hot topic among cybersecurity practitioners. Even today, developers are struggling to produce fast and secure code - a problem that's been around for 20 to 25 years, said Pieter Danhieux, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Secure Code Warrior. The Developer Trust Score may just be the solution.

Developer Trust Score is Secure Code Warrior's tool aimed at enhancing the coding process. This innovation offers a significant upgrade in how companies assess and improve their developers' coding abilities, Danhieux said.
"We have to make sure that developers feel comfortable seeing their own code and they understand what the Trust Score does and how they can improve it," Danhieux said. "People with high Trust Scores should be allowed to modify things; people with low Trust Scores probably shouldn't."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Danhieux also discussed:
- How the Trust Score helps CISOs understand the skill set of developers;
- How the Trust Score encourages developers to maintain higher security standards by analyzing performance data;
- How the Trust Score can facilitate strategic training and development of developers.
Danhieux co-founded Secure Code Warrior, a global security company that aims to make software development better and more secure. He is also a principal instructor for the SANS Institute and serves as an advisory board member of NVISO, a cybersecurity consulting company in Europe.
