Cyderes' New CEO Eyes Identity-Cybersecurity Convergence

Combining identity and cybersecurity is essential for managing risk, defending against threats and enabling secure cloud and digital transformations, said new Cyderes CEO Chris Schueler.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based cybersecurity services powerhouse plans to use identity management to stop threats in real time, using forced multi-factor authentication or tighter authentication controls as an immediate response to suspicious activity. Schueler said Ipseity Security is a "bedrock" for Cyderes' identity skills and a stepping stone for future advancements in identity threat detection and response (see: Robert Herjavec on Managed Services, Identity and CEO Change).

"Identity is just a completely underserved market in general. When you talk to every CISO and CIO, identity is in their top five," Schueler said. "It is a complete, necessary evil, and the CISOs and the CIOs that are leaning into it are really proven out to be rock stars of the organization because they're obviously managing the business adoption and letting the business accelerate."
